We are searching for a software developer to join our digital development team working on services related to property design and maintenance. The common factor in these services is data and knowledge management.

We have the best expertise in Finland concerning the building lifecycle, from the beginning of the project to maintaining and renovating the building all the way to demolishment and material recycle. Energy efficiency, fresh indoor air, life cycle costs and sustainable and safe buildings are examples of goals we work with on a daily basis.

An enormous amount of data is generated in property planning, construction, use and maintenance. This data can be refined and utilized to support better decision making. Smart Living, Connected Buildings, IoT and BIM are trends that will affect all our lives across daily activities in the future. For us at Ramboll this is already happening today and our will is to advance the digitalization of the whole built environment with new solutions.

Main Role Responsibilities
As a software developer you will be responsible of developing an intelligent services which combined with property data can be utilized to manage buildings more efficiently. Property data includes property plans, building information models, usage data and public data from building regulations to location information. Your responsibilities include designing services and defining the right technologies and API’s to external systems. You’ll have central role in developing the service as a software developer, and depending on your preference you’ll be responsible for creating UI and/or backend solutions together with other developers.

Required qualifications, skills and knowledge
To succeed in this position we believe you could be either a recent graduate or already an experienced developer, with experience in demanding web-projects and development of complex systems. You are a mathematically talented person, able to combine different algorithms creating meaningful results. You are well familiar with the common front-end and back-end tools/frameworks, SQL and noSQL data bases and open APIs, as well as development of cloud based services. Furthermore, visualization and design skills are appreciated.

You are systematic, self-driven and well capable of managing projects in the given timeframe. You are working in an environment where others, although technical experts in their own field, are not familiar with software development. For this reason it is important you are able to communicate technological opportunities and solutions in ways understandable to both the customers and your colleagues at Ramboll.
